1. Login fails or fingerprint not recognized
- Fixes
- Reboot the PC and try again.
- Clean the fingerprint sensor with a lint-free cloth.
- Re-enroll fingerprints (delete old entries, add new ones).
- Ensure the user account password is correct; reset Windows password if needed.
2. HP SimplePass app won’t open or crashes
- Fixes
- Install the latest HP SimplePass update from HP Support or remove then reinstall the app.
- Run the app as Administrator.
- Check Windows Event Viewer for error codes and search those codes.
- Create a new Windows user profile to see if the issue is profile-specific.
3. Browser integration (auto-fill) not working
- Fixes
- Confirm the SimplePass browser extension is installed and enabled.
- Update your browser to the latest version.
- Reinstall the extension or reset browser settings.
- Export saved credentials and re-import them if corruption is suspected.
4. Driver or sensor unrecognized after Windows update

- Roll back the fingerprint driver in Device Manager or update it to the OEM version.
